World Television Platform Upgrade Powers Self-Service Conference Call Webcasting
World Television, the leading video communications agency for corporations and governments, today announces that an upgraded version of its market-leading webcasting platform has just been released. StreamStudio, World Television’s proprietary solution for end-to-end webcast production and distribution, now incorporates advanced features to leverage the latest technology available. As part of the upgrade, the company’s ‘self-service’ webcasting solution, StreamStudio Lite, allows clients to create audio webcasts themselves directly from a conference call or telephone line.
StreamStudio was developed in 2001 and is one of the most advanced and proven webcasting platforms on the market. It manages the streaming requirements – from simple conference calls and audio-only webcasts through to all-encompassing multi-camera events – for some of the world’s top brands including Heineken, Nestlé, Santander and Credit Suisse.
Aside from conference call integration, next-generation StreamStudio highlights include:
- Dynamic bandwidth switching for Flash: visitors to any of World Television’s webcasts automatically receive the best quality Flash stream available for their bandwidth. The stream adapts automatically throughout the webcast’s duration as bandwidth increases or decreases
- Integration of dynamic content, for example RSS feeds, news tickers and social media widgets like Twitter, to allow for greater audience interaction
- In addition to iOS, Blackberry, Android and Symbian, live streaming support for Windows Phone 7 & Samsung Bada devices
- Microsoft Silverlight delivery capabilities
- GeoIP-based country restriction
- Advanced security and authentication settings
“StreamStudio is celebrating its 10th birthday this year and our continuous programme of development ensures that it remains the leading webcast platform in Europe,” said Joffrey Haring, World Television’s Director of Technology and Operations.
“Its success lies in its flexibility to deliver above and beyond our clients’ expectations – StreamStudio effortlessly manages multiple languages, PowerPoint slide synchronisation, live Q&A and keyword searching for events of up to 20,000 simultaneous viewers. With the launch of StreamStudio Lite last year and its new audio webcast option we are constantly responding to market demands to stay ahead of the pack so our clients can too.”
